I couldn’t put my hand up fast enough when Master Instructor asked for someone to volunteer to talk about martial arts.
Martial art training is a life journey towards perfection of techniques, however, perfection is difficult to attain even in a lifetime. Does that make us stop training to be the best?……No. Training helps us to become physically fit with strong kicks and fast punches, but more importantly is that it encourages us to become mentally fit as well. It shows us how to concentrate and focus and never give up trying to achieve our goal, both in Taekwondo and in life.
When starting my Taekwondo journey some 18years ago I had no idea what to expect. I only knew what it could be like from watching lots of martial arts movies, particularly ones with Bruce lee.
Watching those movies and all the challenges he had to go through it made me realise that anything can be achieved with dedication and a passion for the art.
As an instructor you always want your students to do their best and be the best they can. My job is to give them the opportunity to do that and help them understand their potential.
I may not be the best instructor, but I am always striving to be.
It is both my instructors and my students who allow me to see that goal every day. This is what keeps me training after all these years.
