What to Look For
Check out the experience of your trainers, investigate the various kinds of martial art (we are currently writing about the variety of martial arts and how they differ from Taekwondo coming soon), what you can learn and how you can use it in your everyday life.
All learning of any kind, requires proper support from your teachers and instructors. When we learn, we must be open to instruction and knowledge. Pacific International Taekwondo Brisbane offers you a supportive environment.
Our experienced and passionate instructors are here to help you become a fitter, stronger and more confident version of yourself. Self-defence classes are fun and rewarding for everyone regardless of age, gender or fitness level.
The Art of Taekwondo
Obviously, you’ve heard of Taekwondo. You may have heard how it improves the cognitive functioning of children. Or perhaps that that it can improve the intake of oxygen and breathing. Like all martial arts, you need to find dedicated instructors to introduce you to its mental and physical reality.
As the most known Korean Art of self-defence, it has become one of the most popular forms of martial arts worldwide. Korean Taekwondo literally means ‘Art of Hand and Foot’ i.e. Tae Kwon Do. In Korean, Tae refers to the foot being used to jump or kick, Kwon means to use the hand and Do refers to the ‘art of the way’.
If you become a practitioner of the ancient Korean art of Taekwondo, you will gradually progress from white belt beginner level through the ranks becoming fitter, faster, stronger and more confident with each belt you achieve. As you become more experienced, you will be able to use punches, strikes, kicks and blocks for self-defence with precision and control.
Taekwondo will enable you to get fit, have fun, condition your body and train your mind to be focused and disciplined.
In fun and interactive kids taekwondo classes, kids are introduced to the fundamentals of martial arts and Taekwondo in a fresh and exciting atmosphere that will introduce them to the unique thrill of this form of exercise.
Teens’ Taekwondo Classes
This Taekwondo and martial arts class is intended to train teens from beginner, white belt level. The program teaches basic techniques that focus on building strength, flexibility, fitness, and balance.
Mastering your own body begins here. Our adults’ martial arts and Taekwondo training program is the ideal way to challenge yourself in both body and mind. These classes can improve your mental capacity and ease your stress and tension.
Pacific International Taekwondo co-founders Grandmaster Trevor Dicks and Master Instructor Margaret Dicks began Taekwondo training in 1972 with the UKTA, under the guidance of Grandmaster Rhee Ki Ha.
The rigorous training ignited a passion for the Art that still burns strongly in this unique couple. They have now spent over 40 years doing what they enjoy most: helping people boost their health, fitness, mental wellbeing and defense skills as they learn the Art of Taekwondo.
All Pacific International Taekwondo instructors and assistants are fully trained black belts and dedicated to delivering good tuition. Their goal is to enable you to discover your inner strengths.
With regular taekwondo classes, you will find yourself becoming not only much fitter but gaining in confidence and personal discipline; this will enable you to attain goals that have previously seemed out of reach.
Regardless of your age, level of fitness or general condition, they will not only teach you the exciting skills of Taekwondo, but you will become the best version of yourself that you can be. Not only will you learn about the age-old benefits of this Korean martial art but your feeling of self-worth and self-satisfaction will be boosted.
At Pacific International Taekwondo, teaching methods transform shy people into self-confident versions of themselves. People realise that they can achieve amazing things when they persevere and take one step at a time.
The instructors don’t focus on Taekwondo for the competition element but for the defense and life skill benefits that it can provide.
