Taekwon-Do is a practical art; hence it can be learnt only from an instructor. Words and diagrams can serve as a reference, but they cannot replace an instructor. Expert practical guidance from an instructor is invaluable.

The student is standing on the line AB and facing D

—Ready Posture (Junbi Jase)
—Parallel ready stance toward D

1. Move the right foot to D and form a right walking stance to D, while the right fist performs a middle punch to D.

2. Move the right foot to A and form a left walking stance to B, while the left forearm performs a low block to B.

3. Move the right foot to B and form a right walking stance to B, while the right fist performs a middle punch to B.

4. Move the right foot to D and form a left walking stance to C, while the left forearm performs a low block to C.

5. Move the right foot to C and form a right walking stance to C, while the right fist performs a middle punch to C.

6. Move the right foot to B and form a left walking stance to A, while the left forearm performs a low block to A.

7. Move the right foot to A and form a right walking stance to A, while the right fist performs a middle punch to A.

—End. Bring the right foot back to parallel ready stance to D.

—Repeat with the other limbs.

1. Move the left foot to D and form a left walking stance to D, while the left fist performs a middle punch to D.

2. Move the left foot to B and form a right walking stance to A, while the right forearm performs a low block to A.

3. Move the left foot to A and form a left walking stance to A, while the left fist performs a middle punch to A.

4. Move the left foot to D and form a right walking stance to C, while the right forearm performs a low block to C.

5. Move the left foot to C and form a left walking stance to C, while the left fist performs a middle punch to C.

6. Move the left foot to A and form a right walking stance to B, while the right forearm performs a low block to B.

7. Move the left foot to B and form a left walking stance to B, while the left fist performs a middle punch to B.

—End. Bring the left foot back to parallel ready stance to D.

Notes:
—when performing the low block, cross the forearms in front of the right/left chest while moving the front foot back. Crossing the forearms is done by keeping the blocking forearm under the other forearm.
—when blocking, the body is half-facing the opponent.
—the blocking tool is the outer forearm.
—the low block may be applied on the inner tibia of the right/left leg of the opponent.
—the middle punch may be applied to the philtrum/chest of a shorter opponent.
—when half-facing, the middle punch may be applied to the ribs of an equal height opponent.
