TECHNICAL VOCABULARY OF WTF-STYLE TAEKWONDO

A technical vocabulary is a vocabulary that lists the names of different techniques of Taekwondo. The names of the techniques vary with different styles of Taekwondo. The nomenclature used below is as per the Kukkiwon defined style of Taekwondo, also known as Kukki Taekwondo, or Olympic Taekwondo, or WTF-style Taekwondo.

In Kukki Taekwondo, skills are broadly classified under Poomsae (patterns), Gyeorugi (sparring), Gyeokpa (breaking) and Hoshinsul (self‐defense). To obtain these skills, several techniques have to be mastered. The names of these techniques are given below in English and Korean languages.
